2023 Collector's Society
Rosé

A Washington Icon of Italian Heritage

Col Solare was established in the Red Mountain AVA with the 1995 vintage upon a belief in bold, patient, and innovative winemaking techniques that few in the world have mastered. Many years later, we enjoy the fruits of a continuation of Italian tradition and an emblem of Red Mountain, the shining hill nestled deep in the heart of Washington’s wine country.

Vintage

The 2023 growing season was marked by a delayed bud break. Following a cool April, May brought warmer weather, leading to a quick bloom just over a month after bud break.

Favorable weather conditions persisted throughout the growing season, with warm, dry days and cool nights ideal for grape maturation. Harvest began earlier than usual.

Lower yields, uniform canopies, and even ripening contributed to exceptional quality.

Winemakers reported grapes with excellent sugar levels, acidity, nice tannins, and flavor profiles, indicating this vintage is on track to become one of the best in a long time.

100% Col Solare Estate

Winemaking

This style of Rosé was crafted utilizing whole berry pressing. Fruit was sourced from our Estate Vineyard at about 22 Brix.

After gentle pressing, the juice settled for 24 hours prior to being racked to 25% concrete and 75% stainless steel vessels.

The juice was fermented at cool temperatures for about 3 weeks and continued to age in a mix of Stainless Steel, concrete, and acacia wood.

No ML Fermentation.
